Research & Development Tax Credit Project Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Research and Development (“R&D”) division of SourceCorp Professional Services is seeking highly motivated individuals who are comfortable identifying and assessing the R&D tax credit opportunity for prospective clients in addition to performing the Project Manager role once the formal R&D tax credit project begins. The Project Manager role is critical in helping SourceCorp’s clients, who come from a variety of industries, identify, qualify and quantify R&D activities for federal and state R&D tax credits. The Project Manager will join SourceCorp’s national team of dedicated R&D Tax Credit professionals. By properly identifying qualified research activities and associated costs, we help our clients maximize their investments in innovation and realize substantial tax savings. Project Managers team up with regional sales directors to evaluate prospective client’s R&D tax credit opportunities. In addition to this important sales function, Project Managers are responsible for leading and overseeing fieldwork performed by consultants related to qualifying and supporting Federal and State R&D credits. Fieldwork typically involves visiting the client location, touring client facilities, interviewing people involved in R&D, and gaining sufficient knowledge to qualify the R&D activity. The project manager is responsible for reviewing relevant facts, cost summary schedules, tax computations, and written reports. The project manager is also responsible for the overall quality of the final client deliverable.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years’ experience performing or managing R&D Tax Credit projects
  • Experience working within a sales capacity to qualify R&D Tax Credit prospects
  • Prior public accounting experience or experience in a manufacturing environment where product and process research and development are conducted is preferred

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and client confidentiality
  • Support regional sales directors by providing R&D technical support and prospective client R&D tax credit evaluations
  • Conduct interviews with client management and staff in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of client operations, processes and R&D efforts
  • Maintain active communication with client management and staff at all levels to manage expectations, gather required information, and ensure deadlines are met
  • Preparation of proposals, estimates, and final client deliverables

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Engineering
  • CPA certification or professional engineering experience highly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior analytical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
  • Strong working knowledge of computer applications, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel
  • 40 – 50% overnight travel required

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Research and Development division of SourceCorp Professional Services is seeking highly motivated individuals who are comfortable reviewing and understanding R&D activity in a wide variety of industries. This understanding is needed to help SourceCorp’s clients qualify and quantify R&D activities for federal and state R&D tax credits. SourceCorp’s R&D Tax Credit team uses dedicated national professionals to conduct Research and Development Tax Credit Studies. By properly identifying qualified research activities and associated costs, we help our clients maximize their investments in innovation and realize substantial tax savings. Consultants are primarily responsible for conducting fieldwork related to qualifying and supporting clients Federal and State R&D credits. Fieldwork typically involves visiting the client location, touring client facilities, interviewing people involved in R&D, and gaining sufficient knowledge to qualify the R&D activity. The consultants, under the direction of the project manager, will investigate relevant facts, prepare cost summary schedules, complete appropriate tax computations, compose written reports, summarize the findings, and participate in the preparation of the final client deliverable.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-3 years’ experience in public accounting or experience in a manufacturing environment where product and process research and development are conducted.

Energy Modeler and Estimator

POSITION SUMMARY:

Candidates will be responsible for performing energy modeling and quantity take-offs.

EXPERIENCE:
Candidates will have a minimum of associate degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management. “Green" experience a plus.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform energy modeling
  • Perform quantity take-offs from construction documents
  • Maintain active communication with client management and staff at all levels to manage expectations, gather required information, and ensure that deadlines are met

 


 

Green Building Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

Candidates will  work with staff Professional Engineers to assist in evaluating commercial properties located throughout the United States against IRS 179D energy efficient building requirements. This is an entry-level position located at the Fort Worth office. 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Candidates will have a minimum of associate degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management. 
  • Experience with building energy simulation modeling utilizing VisualDOE, eQuest or other similar software is a definite plus.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and client confidentiality.
  • Complete construction drawing reviews, quantity takeoffs, and initial energy efficient systems analysis and calculations based on building envelope, HVAC & service hot water, and lighting systems.
  • Perform detailed energy modeling of existing buildings utilizing VisualDOE and/or eQuest energy simulation software
  • Maintain active communication with staff Professional Engineers, client management and staff at all levels to manage expectations and ensure that technical requirements and deadlines are met

 


 

Cost Segregation Consultant

POSITION SUMMARY:

 Candidates will be responsible for review construction design and budget documents, performing quantity take-offs and making site visits of commercial buildings. 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Candidates presented will have a minimum of an associate’s degree in construction/engineering technology or 5 years related experience.
  • A thorough understanding of construction drawings is a must.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and client confidentiality.
  • Candidate will be responsible for review construction design and budget documents, performing quantity take-offs and making site visits of commercial buildings.
  • The new hire needs to be interested and available to travel 20% - 40% after training period.
  • Candidate will have an expertise with technical skills, but must possess soft skills, interpersonal skills and leadership qualities to lead, manage, and communicate with a diverse team.
